WeserWind was forced into insolvency at the end of last week, apparently as a result of parent group Georgsmarienhuette withholding further financial support.
The fabricator as recently as 2012 was riding high on the back of major substation and foundation contracts in the German offshore sector. The most recent evidence of its work was the substation platform installed at the Baltic 2 wind farm last September.
