GE is focused on the Chinese market, where government plans guarantee tremendous wind turbine demand over the coming decade. To reach its goal of 150 gigawatts of wind by 2020, China must install about 11.5 gigawatts a year, according to GE.

GE has agreements to supply 895 1.5MW turbines in China to date. The company’s workhorse turbine is the most widely deployed in the world with more than 12,000 installed.
