Ninety-four turbines will be installed at each of the Settlers Trail and Pioneer Trail projects, which E.ON is developing in response to the state’s renewable portfolio standard, which requires utilities to source 25% of their electricity from renewable sources by 2025.
Update: In June, E.ON announced a power purchase agreement with three Illinois electricity cooperatives for the output from 40MW of the Pioneer Trail project's planned capacity.
