GE is to supply 13 of its largest onshore turbine model to one of the first subsidy-free wind projects in the Baltic states.

The Cypress 5.3MW machines — with ultra-long 158-metre rotor diameters — will be installed at the 68.9MW Telšiai onshore wind farm, which is being developed by local company E Energija in western Lithuania. GE will take a 20% stake in the project after co-funding the project, and also provide operations and maintenance services for 25 years.
