GE Renewable Energy held on to its place as the top turbine maker in a record first quarter US wind market, but its share declined to 43% from 70% a year earlier as Nordex surged into second place past Siemens Gamesa and Vestas, according to a new report released by the American Clean Power Association (ACPA).

GE installed 1.1GW of 2.56GW of new capacity nationwide with projects using its mid-range turbines with 2.3-2.8MW nameplate capacity, a market segment it dominates.
