GE Renewable Energy in the first half of this year retained leadership of the fiercely competitive US onshore wind turbine market with 45% of 3.84GW installed capacity on the strength of its best-selling 2.8-127 model, according to a new report by the American Clean Power Association (ACP).

The workhorse 2.82-127 accounted for 38% of US installations. A GE executive told Recharge in May that the company can manufacture a “127” every couple of hours at its nacelle plant in Pensacola, Florida.
