The new machines are compatible with GE’s “Digital Wind Farm” technology powered by predictive analytics software, which it is marketing as Predix.

Predix provides a “digital infrastructure” for wind farm operators to collect, visualize and analyze unit and site-level data, and then turn this into “actionable insights” that ultimately generate more output and revenue.

“We continue to invest in wind technology because it drives growth,” says Anne McEntee, chief executive of GE’s onshore wind business.
