GE Renewable Energy loses half a billion dollars in first half of 2020 as Covid bites

GE Renewable Energy saw orders and profits hit by the Covid-19 epidemic as it posted a loss of almost half a billion dollars for the first half of 2020.

The renewables arm of the US industrial giant made a loss of $195m for the most recent second quarter and $498m for the six months to June 30, 34% worse than the same period in 2019.
