Power technology giant GE Renewable Energy again captured around half of wind turbine installations in 2021 to retain its lead in the hotly competitive US market, while number-two-placed Dane Vestas lost share and Germany’s Nordex gained ground, according to latest numbers from the American Clean Power Association (ACP).

Project developers installed 6.4GW of GE turbines, most of them the popular 2.82-127 model which has become the industry’s workhorse in the 2.5MW segment, versus 8.8GW in 2020 when GE Renewable Energy had a 53% share of the total market.
