GE Renewable Energy has denied it is currently developing a 14MW version of its Haliade-X offshore wind turbine to be installed as a prototype in the Dutch port city of Rotterdam this summer.

“We are not working on any 14MW machine,” a GE Renewable Energy spokesman told Recharge.

He was reacting to media reports that as part of the permitting process for the test turbine, its rated power had been stated as 12-14MW in technical information submitted to obtain a permit for a prototype from the city of Rotterdam.
