The industrial giant’s Full Service Agreement (FSA), which includes availability guarantees and access to turbine upgrades, will be available with all new 1.6 megawatt turbines the company installs globally.
GE, like other wind turbine manufacturers and service providers, is girding up to retain more of the operations and maintenance business ahead of a wave of turbines coming off warranty. The off-warranty portion of GE’s fleet is 45% and growing, Victor Abate, GE’s vice-president of renewables, said earlier this year.
