Molded Fiber Glass Companies (MFG), a long-time blade supplier to General Electric’s wind business, has announced it will close its blade plant in South Dakota, citing GE’s recent acquisition of blade-maker LM Wind Power and declining federal support for wind power.

MFG, which since 2007 has been making blades for GE out of a large factory in Aberdeen, South Dakota, will close the plant by February 2018 after fulfilling its remaining orders, the company says.
