GE announces plans for UK offshore turbine factory

General Electric has unveiled plans to spend €340m ($454.2m) by 2016 building offshore wind-related research and manufacturing facilities across the UK, Norway, Sweden and Germany, including a much-anticipated turbine factory in the UK.
