Gamesa will deliver 142 of its G114 2.1MW machines to the El Cabo complex under development by Avangrid Renewables in New Mexico, with commissioning due from June 2017.

The bumper US order comes as Gamesa prepares its merger with the wind business of Germany’s Siemens, a deal designed to create a new $10bn industry superpower.
