Prysmian has announced the delivery of what is claimed as the largest cable-laying vessel in the world – the Leonardo da Vinci – with the ship arriving at the cabling giant’s Arco Felice plant near Naples.

Its first mission will be the installation of the cable for the Viking Link interconnection between the UK and Denmark, which Prysmian previously said will be the longest in the world with about 620km underwater and 70km of land route (in the UK).
