Progress on the next phase of the project was briefly delayed earlier this month, when the spar floater tipped over at a precarious angle, as the port at Sumoto, Hyogo prefecture, is not deep enough to accommodate the apparatus.
It took consortium member Japan Marine United and construction firm Yoshida Gumi five days to return the spar to its upright position.
