France should turbocharge the scale of its offshore wind ambition and could deploy 50GW of wind at sea by mid-century, French wind power association FEE and renewables federation SER told the government in a joint declaration that comes soon after President Emmanuel

The two groups propose an interim target for offshore wind of 18GW by 2035. That would be a steep increase from the 6.2GW of offshore wind capacity France’s most recent multi-year energy plan envisages for 2028.
