Despite a rejection in the French Senate, the government according to media reports still thinks a renegotiation is needed of support granted for close to 3GW in offshore wind acreage in tenders in 2012 and 2014.

“Our goal remains the same,” Sébastien Lecornu, state minister for ecologic transition, is quoted as telling journalists at an event near Paris by the AFP news agency.

“We have an economic model emerging around renewable energies, in which supply and demand are beginning to do their work, resulting in decreasing prices."
