The French government will open talks with developers to renegotiate 3GW of offshore wind support offered in earlier tenders, with the prospect of retendering the projects if no agreement is reached, the country’s ministry for ecological transition said on Monday.

France in 2012 and 2014 tendering rounds awarded offshore projects to consortia including EDF, Iberdrola and Engie at prices hovering around €200 ($247) per megawatt hour.
