European floating wind pioneer Hexicon has been awarded a marine licence for a pilot project using its innovative twin-turbine design off Britain, a key step in the flagship 30-40MW array’s construction.

The ‘stepping stone’ project, being built with US engineering contracting giant Bechtel, will be the first in the emerging offshore play in the Celtic Sea between England, Wales and Ireland, where some 4GW of new capacity is in prospect for development by 2035.
