The first of Japan’s offshore wind tenders is likely to be for a small floating project rather than a major fixed-bottom development, said an expert commentator on the market there.
The 21MW Goto Islands floating wind project off Japan’s southern tip is in line to lead-off the country’s tendering under its new ‘General Waters’ offshore programme, according to Naoaki Eguchi, a partner with law firm Baker McKenzie in Tokyo.
