Working with Keystone Engineering, the developer built a full-scale mock-up and gave a hands-on demonstration Thursday to federal government agencies, turbine suppliers and industry officials at the Gulf Island Fabrication yard in Houma, Louisana.
The mock-up included a simulated vessel deck with handrails.
The agencies included the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, which oversees commercial offshore wind development in federal waters; the Department of Energy (DOE); the Occupational and Health Safety Administration, which enforces workplace health and safety standards, and US Coast Guard.
