The first wind turbine nacelles and blades to be built in Siemens Gamesa’s new factory in Le Havre, France, have rolled out, with plans ramping up to deliver to some 2.5GW of projects, including the delayed Saint Brieuc, Fecamp and Calvados farms and the Provence Grand Large floating pilot.

The plant – the first in the world to produce nacelles and lay-up blades under one roof – will manufacture both 7MW and 8MW direct-drive models for the German-Spanish OEM, and the 75-metre and 81-metre IntegralBlade units they will fly.
