First Wind adds 17 turbines to Stetson project in Maine

The first phase of the Stetson project began operating in January 2009 and was the largest in the state at 57MW.

The expansion, approved last March, will add 26MW for a total of 83MW. Construction of the additional turbines, managed by Reed & Reed, began in November.

First Wind, based in Boston, will sell half the energy, as well as renewable energy credits, from the second phase of the Stetson project to Harvard University.
