The first of three barges that will transport the five foundations will arrive at the project site off Block Island by mid-July, a Deepwater spokeswoman tells Recharge.

Before that first “materials” barge arrives, an installation barge with a crane will arrive on-site and begin setting up mooring buoys, where the materials barges will “park”, the spokeswoman says.

The five jacket foundations to be used at the 30MW Block Island project have been manufactured by Gulf Island Fabrications in Houma, Louisiana.
