Orsted said it remained committed to “financial discipline” after winning a UK government power deal for its 2.9GW Hornsea 3 mega-project, clearing the way for the Danish group to create the “world’s largest offshore wind zone” off eastern England.

Hornsea 3 was among five offshore wind projects to secure a 15-year contract-for-difference (CfD) deal in the latest round of UK renewable energy auctions with ‘strike prices’ of £37.35/MWh ($44.6/MWh) at 2012 rates.
