New Chinese government measures to retroactively cap the level of subsidies available to renewable energy projects could dampen offshore wind growth next year and delay projects from choosing the latest turbine technology, some in the wind industry warned.
The policy — a joint effort by the Ministry of Finance, National Development and Reform Commission and National Energy Administration (NEA) — sets out “reasonable utilisation time” caps for the country’s wind, solar, and biomass projects.
