Siemens Gamesa added to the onshore wind sector’s momentum towards increasingly powerful turbines as it unveiled a 7MW machine.
The OEM giant claimed its new SG 7.0-170 variant aimed at medium to high wind sites will offer “one of the most competitive levelised costs of energy in the industry” as the latest addition to its 5.X platform.
Siemens Gamesa has already booked orders for its 6.6MW
