'European wind power is not naive – of course we are potential espionage targets'

The European wind sector must step up its safeguards against industrial espionage from China and elsewhere or risk seeing its global technology lead eroded, the heads of two major industry bodies warned Recharge.

Giles Dickson and Jan Hylleberg, CEOs of WindEurope and WindDenmark respectively, said concerns in Denmark over recent reports of Chinese activity at universities with links to some of the world's largest wind OEMs show the need for vigilance.
