The four plants – totalling 72MW – will be owned by a 50/50 joint venture between EDF EN and Diamond Generating Europe, a Mitsubishi subsidiary.

EDF EN – the renewables division of the French utility giant – will oversee maintenance and provide asset management post-commissioning in 2014.

The wind farms will be built in the Aisne, Pas-de-Calais and Nord departments.

The deal extends to wind power a relationship that began in January this year, when Mitsubishi bought a 50% stake in a 55MW French PV project developed by EDF-EN.
