The developers building New York’s giant Empire Wind offshore wind complex are extending a landmark whale monitoring study with the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) that aims to ensure the sustainable coexistence of the industry and marine wildlife in the US Atlantic.
The study in the New York Bight, where a record $4.4bn auction was held earlier this year, is designed to guarantee that data on wildlife in the project zone are tracked throughout the construction and operations phases of the two-project 2.1GW
