French developer Eolfi and Cobra Concesiones, a subsidiary of Spanish construction conglomerate ACS, have formalised a partnership to develop a portfolio of five 500MW floating wind power projects off Taiwan.

The tie-up, which involved Cobra taking a formal majority shareholdership in Eolfi Greater China, will provide a fillip to the W1N project off Taoyuan, currently in the running to be the world’s first utility-scale floating wind farm, with a commissioning date set for 2022.
