The US government announced start of an environmental review for the construction and operations plan (COP) submitted by Dominion Energy for its up-to-3GW Virginia Offshore Wind Commercial (CVOW-C) project, the largest in the western hemisphere.

If approved by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), the federal industry regulatory body that is part of the Department of Interior, the massive array could employ up to 205 Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy turbines in a lease area 43km east of the state’s southern coast.
