French utility Engie as part of a strategic update is speeding up its renewable energy expansion, with the long-term goal to become a net zero carbon company by 2045.
The company now plans to install 4GW of renewables each year in the 2022-25 period, and 6GW annually in 2026-30.
The group as part of its 2019-21 energy transition programme had eyed average annual renewables additions of 3GW.
