French energy group Engie has entered the UK offshore wind sector after joining Portugal’s EDPR as an investor in the Moray project under development off Scotland.

EDPR said it has completed the sale to Engie of a 23% stake in Moray Offshore Windfarm (East), which has consent for up to 1.1GW in the Outer Moray Firth.

The French group will pay a total of £21m ($27m) for the stake, said the Portuguese group.
