Engie will sell a near half-share in a 2.3GW portfolio of US wind and solar projects to climate change investment specialist Hannon Armstrong.

The investment group will take 49% of 663MW of operating wind farms and the same stake in later developments in the French energy group’s under-construction American projects as they come online.

With a weighted average contract life of 13 years, Hannon Armstrong cited the projects' "highly creditworthy" offtakers that include Amazon, Allianz, Ingersoll Rand, Microsoft, T Mobile, Target, Walmart, and Xcel Energy.
