French utility Engie has chosen Siemens Gamesa to supply wind turbines for its 260MW Punta Lomitas project in Peru, which will be the country’s largest wind farm when commissioned in early 2023.
The OEM will deliver 50 of its SG 5.0-145 turbines to operate at a rating of 5.0-5.2MW to the project in the southern region of Ica.
“It has been a great team effort to get here, and we are very proud to be entrusted by Engie Energia Peru,” said Jorge Lobaton de la Guardia, onshore managing director of Siemens Gamesa Latam.
