The Aloys Wobben Foundation, the owner of embattled wind turbine manufacturer Enercon, and regional German utility EWE have launched a development and operations joint venture (JV), which has earmarked €4bn ($4.7bn) for investments this decade and a pipeline of projects in France and Germany of up to 9.4GW.

The formal set-up of Alterric, as the previously announced JV will be known, was cleared following approval by European anti-trust authorities, shareholders and an investment agreement signed late last year.
