The deal marks CLP’s sixth order from EIL, which will supply its E53 models rated at 800kW apiece.
EIL recently dealt a blow to its former parent company, Germany’s Enercon, by convincing a court in Chennai to annul 12 of its patents, in a move with potentially major implications for other turbine makers in India.
The patent court dismissed the patents, which are registered in the US, Canada and Europe, as not representing any real innovation.
