The project, near the town of Pincher Creek, consists of 33 Enercon direct-drive turbines mounted on towers with a graduated green colour scheme around the base.
While this colour scheme, meant to help the turbines blend into the surrounding terrain, is common in Europe, this is the first Enel project to use it in North America. The local community wanted the green towers, a company spokesperson tells Recharge.
Enel Green Power chief executive Francesco Starace calls the project "a first step for future potential development in the Alberta region".
The
