Enel Russia, a subsidiary of Italy-based energy giant Enel Green Power, has signed a cooperation agreement with the Russian republic of Tatarstan in an effort to further boost its renewable energy expansion in the world’s largest country.

Under the agreement, the development activities will be carried out by Enel Green Power Rus, Enel’s Russian unit, while the Tatarstan government will support the development of wind projects, including through assistance on land issues, grid connection and recognition of the projects’ regional importance.
