Italy’s Enel reaffirmed its 2017-19 strategy – including significant renewables growth – as it unveiled 2016 full-year figures that saw operating profits stable on falling sales.

Revenues in the 12 months period amounted to €70.6bn ($74.5bn), down 6.7% on the €75.7bn in the previous year.

"This drop reflects the decrease in revenues from the sale of electricity in mature markets, the decline in sales of electricity generated, lower revenues from distribution tariffs in Italy and unfavourable exchange rates, notably in Latin America," said Enel.
