The World Bank Group has invested $80.7bn in wind power since 1995, with $4.95bn — or 6.1% of the total — going to projects developed by Enel Green Power (EGP), according to a report from US renewables intelligence provider IntelStor.

The subsidiary of Italian utility Enel has deployed most of that capital — $3.33bn — in Brazil and Mexico, while also investing in South Africa, Romania, Morocco, Bulgaria, Peru and Russia.
