Enel Green Power has acquired its longstanding Kansas-based wind project partner Tradewind Energy, and immediately announced a deal to sell 6GW of its 13GW renewables and storage US development pipeline to a Macquarie Group subsidiary.

Massachusetts-based Enel Green Power North America (EGPNA) did not release financial details for its acquisition of Tradewind, which took effect Wednesday, Enel spokeswoman Krista Barnaby told Recharge.

The deal came after new EGPNA chief executive Georgios Papadimitriou said in a January interview with Recharge that the company was committed to aggressive renewables development in North America, mainly the US, with a focus on the corporate market.
