Eldepasco had languished in development limbo until last month, when two of its shareholders – renewables developer Electrawinds and offshore contractor Depret – exited the project amid concerns about its cost.
The remaining two original stakeholders, Belgian discount supermarket chain Colruyt and renewables developer Aspiravi, purchased their stakes, and now own 66.7% and 33.3% of the project respectively.
Eldepasco is slated to become Belgium’s third offshore wind farm, behind the first phases of Thornton Bank and Belwind.
