Legislative Bill (LB) 423 would have allowed wind and other renewable energy facilities to claim a $0.01 tax credit for each kilowatt-hour of electricity generated.
An amendment to the bill had capped the amount of credits available at $75m and would have given a project owner five years to apply. Bill supporters had estimated cost of the subsidy at between $14m to $17m in the first four years.
