French energy company EDF Renewables will build 33MW of new wind capacity in Brazil to supply power to Braskem, one of the country's largest petrochemical companies.

This is the first public confirmation of an off taker in several non-regulated market PPAs that have been signed or are in negotiations throughout the country.

Construction is due to start in 2019.

Braskem said in a statement that the PPA was 20 years which gave it a value of R$400m ($107m).
