French utility EDF and its local partner China Energy Investment Corp. (CEI) have commissioned the 200MW Dongtai V offshore wind farm in the East China Sea off the Jiangsu coast north of Shanghai.

That brings the Sino-French joint venture’s overall capacity in the area to 500MW as they had already commissioned the 300MW Dongtai IV phase in late 2019. Dongtai IV and V are located at some 40km off the Jiangsu coast, with 125 wind turbines generating power for two million inhabitants.
