E.ON taps $200m tax equity for Texas 258MW re-powering

E. ON has secured more than $200m in tax equity financing to re-power the Panther Creek I and II wind farms in West Texas, a move that will increase the useful lives of the 172 GE 1.5MW turbines at the combined 258MW sites another 25 years.

The project, due for completion in December, will increase their capacity factors through the replacement and installation of new drivetrains and upgrade of turbines with longer rotors.
