After completing its 385MW Arkona project in the German Baltic Sea, E.ON has an “ambition” to expand into nearby Polish waters to form an offshore wind cluster in the region and bundle operations activities, said Holger Matthiesen, project director of E.ON Climate & Renewables Services.

E.ON in September completed installation of 60 Siemens Gamesa 6.4MW turbines at Arkona. The German utility owns the project jointly with Norway’s Equinor, which has already bought into two major Polish offshore wind projects first developed by local utility Polenergia.
